In both 2024 and 2025, we hosted International Workers’ Day (May Day) events with staggering success - hundreds of workers came out to celebrate International Workers’ Day with a mix of speakers, political education, entertainment and celebration. With the municipal election in the fall and a historic number of strike actions happening here in Vancouver, this year’s theme is “Take Back Our City”

On Friday, May 1st, starting at 6:00PM, we’ll be celebrating workers of the world again, this time at The Russian Hall in Strathcona. The VDLC welcomes all affiliated unions and organizations that stand in support for the cause of labour to share this space with us, in celebration of the working class.
