33rd annual Miners Memorial Weekend

Held over the weekend of June 22-24 in Cumberland, the annual Miners Memorial is a celebration of workers and their families and a call for a renewed commitment for safe and healthy workplaces, justice and equity, and bread and roses for all.

2018 also marks the 100-year anniversary of the death of labour activist Ginger Goodwin, who was shot and killed in Cumberland on July 27, 1918.
