DID YOU KNOW?

There are over 20 scholarships available to post-secondary students affiliated with ILWU Canada, including Local 517's own Bud Smith Scholarship.

There are scholarships for both university programs and also vocational / career technical programs. Application is open to active members and dependents of active members in good standing with the local.

UNIVERSITY SCHOLARSHIPS - UPDATED*

The period for submitting university scholarship applications has changed. UBC will now be accepting applications for the scholarships below from August 15, 2018 to September 15, 2018.

• #0530 - ILWU Harry Bridges Undergraduate Scholarship

• #4804 - ILWU Local 517 Bud Smith Scholarship

• #0558 - ILWU Thomas P. Mayes Scholarship

• #4786 - William Hurford Memorial Scholarship

After obtaining a letter of good standing from Sarah Pilgrim, Membership Trustee, follow the instructions on UBC's website to apply.

VOCATIONAL / CAREER TECHNICAL SCHOLARSHIP INFORMATION

The deadline for submitting applications for the vocational / career technical scholarships is September 30, 2018.
