Nominations & Elections 2017

The 2017 Nomination & Election period is upon us. As reported at the last general membership meeting, the nominations for the Executive Board positions of 1st Vice-President, Financial Secretary, Membership Trustee and Odd-Year Trustee were open effective 8:00 AM on Friday, September 15 2017.

Nominations will close at 4:00 PM on Friday, September 29th 2017.

All prospective nominees are subject to the conditions as defined in the ILWU Local 517 By-Laws, Article II – Nominations and Elections.

The positions up for election and the member currently holding each position are as follows:

• 1st Vice-President: Darcy Lesueur

• Financial Secretary: Celia George

• Membership Trustee: Sarah Pilgrim

• Odd-Year Trustee: Wayne Leslie

If desired, any candidates running for one of the positions noted above may address the membership at the next membership meeting on Wednesday, October 4th 2017.

If required, the election will commence at 8:00 AM on Friday, October 13th 2017, and conclude at 4:00 PM on Friday, October 27th 2017.

Newly elected officers will be sworn in at the Annual General Meeting on Wednesday, November 1st 2017, which is also when Standing Committees for 2017-18 will be struck.
